Electronic Club Proxies at the International Convention!

Electronic Club Proxies for the Annual Business Meeting – May 11, 2011

Toastmasters International will send the official proxy notification for the Toastmasters International Annual Business Meeting to all club presidents and club secretarys via e-mail on May 11, 2011.

Using the Toastmasters website, clubs can determine electronically who will carry their votes:

  • The club can send a delegate to the meeting.
  • The club may assign the proxy to the 2011 -2012 district governor.
  • They may also assign another active Toastmaster member.

If a club assigns the district governor as its delegate, the district governor in office at the time of the International Convention will be able to cast the club’s votes at the Annual Business Meeting.

From the website, district governors will be able to see not only which clubs have assigned their proxies to them, but they can also find out which clubs have or have not assigned their proxies. For those clubs who have not submitted their proxies, district governors will be provided with the club president’s name and contact information to allow the district governor to follow up.

At the Convention, instead of scanning multiple proxy cards, delegates will scan their Convention badges at the credentials desk and a printout will be generated showing how may ballots are to be issued. Ballots will be distributed and utilized for casting votes as in the past.

Toastmasters “Consistent Rebrand” & Online Store

  www.sherri4id.info

Dear Toastmasters Leaders,

On August 17, 2011, Toastmasters International will launch its newly updated brand. This is an exciting initiative for Toastmasters; not only is it the first complete rebrand in our 86-year history, but it gives us an opportunity to consistently shape members’ and potential members’ perceptions of the organization in ways that will help us to grow and evolve.   http://www.toastmasters.org/prerebrandFAQs

“In order to realize our mission, we must create consistency in the story we tell. Therefore, the primary objective of the rebrand is to create and deploy one consistent Toastmasters”. To achieve this objective, we have developed a set of tools to help clubs and districts around the world consistently share this identity. Through the consistent use of the new visual system and positioning, we will successfully:

  • Accurately set and maintain the public’s perception of Toastmasters.
  • Expand the organization’s reach into emerging markets.
  • Reduce the volunteer leaders’ workload by providing brand guidelines to use when creating materials.
  • Garner more recognition and media coverage.
  • Become the consistently recognized world leader in leadership and communication development.
  • Create a more consistent member experience, regardless of geography.

“A clear and consistent brand tells one story of an organization. An ineffective brand tells many stories – some of which are accurate and consistent, but the majority of which are inconsistent and inaccurate”.

One the greatest forces behind this brand update is the need to create a more consistent position and visual appearance to represent Toastmasters around the world. To ensure this consistency, all materials, including meeting materials, banners, badges, manuals and other products, are being updated with the new logo and color system. This means that any material using the current color system and text emblem will be out of date on August 17, 2011.  Read more: http://www.toastmasters.org/prerebrandFAQs

To ensure that you do not spend your valuable funds on materials that will be obsolete in a few short months, we are removing certain products from the store until the rebranded product is available for shipment. Following are key dates to prepare for:

On April 21, these products will temporarily be unavailable for purchase:

 District badges

  • Districts may pre-order new badges for the 2011-2012 district teams until June 15. Shipments will begin July 1, in the order they were received.

 Banners (club and district)

  • New banners will be available for purchase on July 1.

On May 1, the following products will temporarily be unavailable for purchase:

 Engraved club and member badges

  • New badges will be available for purchase on July 1.

 Lecterns

  • New lecterns will be available for purchase on July 15.

All other store items will continue to be available throughout the rebrand process until the current supply is exhausted. On August 17, the full product line will be available.

If you have additional questions, please visit the FAQ page. Thank you in advance for your patience. If you have questions or would like additional information see this link http://www.toastmasters.org/prerebrandFAQs or please contact brand@toastmasters.org.  Best regards, Sally Newell Cohen, Director, Communications, Toastmasters International.   www.toastmasters.org
